Yes, the title of this post is correct. Its been shown where Rice is a very good high blood pressure reducer. In his book “Control High Blood Pressure without drugs, Dr. Robert Rowan, M.D Writes the following
“About fifty years ago a major advance in understanding the relationship between diet and treatment of hypertension was made by Dr. Walter Kempner of Duke University. He was responsible for what has come to be known as the rice diet. Here is how it happened: A thirty three-year-old woman suffering from severe kidney disease was told to remain on diet of plain unsalted rice for two weeks and then to return for further evaluation. However, the woman did not return for two months……..When Kempner finally examined her, he found a remarkable difference: Her blood pressure had come down, and her ECG had improved as did the serious aspects of the kidney diseases. “
Kempner went on to recommend the diet to several of his patients and 2/3rds of them showed similar blood pressure reduction, improvement in kidney function and greater strength in cardiac muscle.
Incidentally, this was the first time low salt was seen as a high blood pressure reducer. In this present day, a low salt diet is seen as an important lifestyle change high blood pressure sufferers should make.
Note well, the rice diet is difficult to follow, moreover, it does not provide a complete nutritional balance that the body needs. It is also not a sexy diet. It is for these reasons that it is not a popular remedy for high blood pressure.
Given a choice between high blood pressure, possible kidney failure and other medical complications, I will take the rice diet any day as a high blood pressure reducer. Besides, It can always be complimented with other exciting and sexy foods.
True Story ….. Ok, so today after weeks of being under control, my blood pressure started acting up. I was working under pressure to finish a technology report for a client. I believe the stress of doing this was the reason for the peak in my blood pressure.
My Blood pressure reading was 155/94, my head and neck had tension, and my chest was feeling a bit heavy. I took a break and went to rest for couple minutes with some jazz music. My blood pressure reading was about 150/90 when I took the reading 10 Minutes later
My Personal Assistant Wendy, who is also a natural health enthusiast, made me a drink. The drink was made by mixing usual high blood pressure herbs.
This drink instantly lowered my high blood pressure within minutes. Folks I mean with 5 minutes my blood pressure was down to 128/78. I could not believe it, I was shocked. I took the reading three times and the average was 125/77.
With Wendy’s permission, I am going to share this with you . This worked for me, I am not saying that it will work for you, but it will not hurt to try it. Again, as usual, consult your doctor before trying anything new.
This remedy actually reduced my blood pressure at least 10-15 points within 5 minutes.
4 Herbs were used to make the drink, they are:
1. One Ginger tea bag
2. One Cinnamon tea bag
3. One Chamomile tea bag
4. Four cloves of garlic
Steps to creating the drink:
As indicated earlier, I took my blood pressure before and after I drank the drink, and I would advise you to do the same if you are going to try it. Within five minutes of drinking the tea, I felt the symptoms fading away. Take your blood pressure again multiple times after, you will notice that it has decreased drastically – and it’s as simple as that.
For added relief you can rest while listening to some jazz. This will help calm your brain. You can also take some deep breaths in and out while you close your eyes and relax. Just doing these few simple actions and consuming this drink, instantly lowered my high blood pressure.

Recently, I visited webmd.com and read an article about lifestyle changes. What struck me is that, usually we are told to focus on lowering our diastolic blood pressure, (that is the number below the line in the blood pressure reading). What was interesting about this article was that it advocates that we should also aim to lower our systolic blood pressure, and this in turn will bring down the diastolic blood pressure significantly.
The article was providing 5 lifestyle tips to lower high blood pressure
Here is an exerpt from the aticle
